Shooting Comic Con was a challenge. The light was too poor to not use a flash, and the only flash I had was the built in flash on my camera. Outdoors was super bright and sunny. Although the event ran 12 hours, I was out of battery in 6. Still, the whole experience was great, and some of the costumes were amazing.
I’m afraid to say I’m out of touch. I had no idea that there are conventions where people go to play their favorite characters from video games, comics, and movies. Occasionally I look back over my landscapes to see what alien worlds I’ve skipped for my space art. This particular shot was near Page, Arizona. A cloudy day made for soft enough shadows that the image works fine transformed for night. Less brightness and more contrast make the transformation believable.
